Hi everyone,
it is time to announce the release of Hydrogen 0.9.7-beta3. The third (and hopefully the last) beta version of Hydrogen 0.9.7 contains the following changes:

  • Introduction of a sample selection algorithm (thanks to Aurelien)
  • Support for images in sound libraries (contributed by Paul)
  • Support for fixed midi input mapping (using output notes, contributed by kurddt)
  • A new donation dialog (based on the dialog from the Windows version of 0.9.6)
  • Several improvements for the windows build (smaller binaries: 60mb -> 21mb, re-enabled ladspa, supressed command unnecessary command window)
  • A lot of smaller bugfixes..

As always, the source code can be found on github, the windows binary can be grabbed from sourceforge.

Built and tested here on a Debian Jessie system. Everything's looking fine. Well done to everyone involved with this !

I love Hydrogen - thanks to everybody involved. Great to see development happening again.

Some feedback on 0.9.7-rc1 .... on my platform (Windows XP SP3) it hangs during startup
with the splash screen showing. Only 18k RAM allocated and it pegs one of my CPU's.

0.9.6-alpha1 continues to work fine.

Let me know if I can help.

Yay!

On Win7 opens now about 4 times faster than before. Promises good, thanks guys :)

Thanks for the feedback! I suppose that this is related to the sound driver detection. I've changed it a bit so that we have now meaningful defaults for each platform - so on windows, we're tring to use PortAudio first and CoreAudio for OS X.

Hi everyone

I'd like to drive a midi looper (Boomerang) with a midi clock. I'm a user of Hydrogen and still wondering if it's possible to send a midi clock from Hydrogen to my looper.

TYVM for any help !
