So I bought an M audio trigger finger recently and i t doesn't seem to work properly with Hydrogen. The midi 'activity light' in hydrogen goes off for every midi event on the trigger finger, but the trigger finger will only trigger the top 8 hits on whatever kit i load, the bottom 8 and the bottom 8 pads on the trigger finger don't work. Will this be resolved any time soon?

Great program by the way.

Thanks for making it.

Hi I am quite a fan of m-audio helps knowing someone who works for them I have emailed him the question does it send on 2 channels as useual m-audio site is prety vage.
it may be that the top 8 pads are on midi 1 and bottum 8 may be on midi 2 not sure. try setting hydrogen prefrences midi to recieve on all channels. hope this helps you I will update when I get email proberly when easter holls a have finished

Edit:
what also may be usefull is using the enigma.exe app and changing the preset to a new use instructions in v3 of user guide under enigma.

I'm tryin' to use the Trigger Finger in Ubuntu Linux. The indicator light in Hydrogen does go off for me as well, but I'm not getting any hits.

My settings are:
Midi driver: ALSA
Input USB Trigger Finger MIDI 1
Channel: All (Tried 1 & 2)
Ignore note-off: checked

Hydrogen does hit when I use the keyboard.

Any tips?

Hi!

I wrote the Midi-Configuration Dialog for Hydrogen, but i don't know how the triggerfinger works. I've never used one and i don't have access to a device, so i can't help here.

But you could try to use the midi dialog of hydrogen 0.9.4 to see which midi action is triggered by your device. Just get yourself a recent 0.9.4 version of hydrogen and goto preferences/midi tab and then press the red button on the left. Hydrogen records now the midi event and displays it.
This would help us to see how the device works..
Or use other midi monitoring programs for this task!
